In the fall of 2021 leaders of New Life At Calvary and Bay Presbyterian Church came together to commission and pray for the launch of a new, diverse and justice-seeking church. The home of the new church body would be in Cleveland’s near west side neighborhood, Clark-Fulton. Pastor Keon Abner, the liaison between the two churches, has cast a vision to see God’s people come together as one body, one family. Now, with a shared vision to effect change in each other's communities and the Clark-Fulton area, a core team of members has come together to launch Bridge City Church.

Sharing in their love for Christ and a newfound love for one another, and with a commitment to share the life-changing message of the Gospel,  members have dedicated themselves to the work of reconciliation: between one another and with the community into which they have entered. By God’s grace, doors have opened for this community of believers.

On Sunday, September 12, 2021, we cut the ribbon and officially opened the doors as a brand-new church in the city. So it begins the journey of Bridge City Church.  A journey of hope and reconciliation.  A journey of understanding and healing.  A journey of love and service that transcends racial, ethnic, or economic boundaries. A journey of faith and devotion to the Lord Jesus Christ.  All are welcome at our table.  All are invited to join our family.

Our Beliefs

This is What We believe as Stated in the Apostles Creed

I believe in God, the Father almighty,
      creator of heaven and earth.

I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord,
who was conceived by the Holy Spirit
and born of the virgin Mary.
      He suffered under Pontius Pilate,
      was crucified, died, and was buried;
      he descended to hell.
The third day he rose again from the dead.
      He ascended to heaven
and is seated at the right hand of God the Father almighty.
From there he will come to judge the living and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Spirit,
      the holy catholic* church,
      the communion of saints,
      the forgiveness of sins,
      the resurrection of the body,
      and the life everlasting. Amen.

*that is, the true Christian church of all times and all places
