Our Lead Pastor

A pastor is an elder, but with a special focus on teaching, vision, and guiding the church. All elders share the work of shepherding, but the pastor leads through preaching, prayer, and helping the church stay centered on Jesus. It's a role that takes preparation and accountability, but it doesn’t make the pastor “more important” than anyone else—just a servant called to lead.

Rev. Keon L. Abner

Keon Lashon Abner serves as our Lead Pastor, committed to biblical preaching, shepherding our church, and leading with vision and care. He’s known for his love for God’s Word and his heart for discipleship, always calling our church to let the gospel shape real life. His desire is simple: that Bridge City Church would remain rooted in Scripture, centered on Jesus, and faithful to our mission.

Alongside pastoring, Keon serves as the Regional Church Planting Director for the EPC Northeast, supporting new church plants across the Alleghenies and the East.

His greatest joy is at home—as Ashley Cherise’s husband and the father of Kailyn, Ashytn, and Brooklyn. His sense of humor, his love for people, and his passion for the gospel shape the way he leads and fuel his call to serve both the church and the city.
